Following the kickoff, The Hispanic Experience on September 29th from 6 to 8 PM will take place at the Center for Creative Education. This promises to be an evening with dynamic Latin performances showcasing traditional music and dance, a variety of vendors offering delicious Latin American food, unique handcrafted goods, and cultural artifacts.
Future plans involve the screening of Las Villas, a powerful film celebrating the past and present contributions of Hispanic residents. This eye-opening film will be followed by a lively panel discussion featuring local experts and community leaders. They’ll dive into the crucial role Hispanic and Latino individuals have played in shaping Ulster County’s social, economic, and cultural landscape.
There is also the exciting possibility of a community quinceañera for local youth. This special celebration marks the transition into adulthood for young people, bringing families and friends together to honor the milestone of turning 15. Expect a heartfelt ceremony, vibrant traditional music and dance, and special presentations that celebrate each participant’s achievements and cultural heritage. It’s a unique and inclusive event that truly showcases our community’s spirit and traditions! More information with the Ulster County’s Office of Youth. back to top
