March 2018Tanto si eres foodie (amante de la buena comida) como si no, es posible que necesites ayuda a la hora de comprar alimentos en inglés. Por ello, en este número vamos a trabajar diferentes recursos (preguntas, vocabulario, gramática) para facilitarte la tarea.
You walk into a supermarket or grocery store in need of some ingredients for a new recipe you want to cook. Here are some questions that you can ask the shop attendant:
- Can you help me? (¿Puedes ayudarme?).
- Do you have milk / apples? (¿Tienes leche / manzanas? En inglés, milk es incontable por eso, no lleva s; mientras que apple sí tiene plural).
- I’m looking for the meat / fish aisle. (Estoy buscando el pasillo de la carne / del pescado).
- Where is the rice / are the tomatoes? (¿Dónde está el arroz / están los tomates?).
- Where can I find the vegetables? (¿Dónde puedo encontrar las verduras?).
- What aisle is the lettuce in? (¿En qué pasillo está la fruta?).
- Is this sushi / Are these sanwiches fresh? (¿Este sushi es fresco / Estos sándwiches son frescos?).
- How much is the wine / are the yogurts? (¿Cuánto cuesta el vino / cuestan los yogures?).
- Do you take coupons?

I went to the ________ store yesterday. It was _______! I even talked to the worker! I was looking for ________ to make some guacamole and I had a difficult time finding the ________ aisle, so I asked him: “________________________________”. Then he said: “___________________________” and showed me the way there. It was a _________ experience and I managed to find what I needed .
