The harvest Moon with La Voz

We invite you to a Latino fundraising event

Por La Voz
August 2022
We are very happy to be able to invite you after more than two years without seeing each other in person to two fundraising events with La Voz magazine, to celebrate our 18th anniversary with live music representing our beautiful Hispanic cultures of the Hudson Valley and with food, -need we say more?
Everyone, come to the Harvest Moon Celebration!
Sunday, September 11th 3:00PM to 7:00PM
Enjoy the beautiful views of Red Hook's Greig's farm, accompanied by the music of the Son Jarocho Ameyal, Pablo Shine's Latin Jazz ensemble, DJ Luis Olmos, and other surprises, along with food for sale from local Hispanic restaurants. What else? Good company, good vibes, raffles, and auctions. All proceeds benefit La Voz magazine, Hispanic Culture and News of the Hudson Valley. Thanks to Norman Greig, Wilfredo Morel from Steel Imaginations, and Revolución Radio for their support.

And because one day is not enough… We are waiting for you for our A Latino Fundraising event on Friday, October 21 in the MPR room of the Campus Center of Bard College, to enjoy live music, food for sale and participate in a karaoke, if you dare! We will also honor various members of the community for their services.

Tickets are on sale now for our Harvest Moon celebration with La Voz. It's only $25 per person, but it will be a big help for this publication. You can get your tickets at this link:

If you are part of an organization or business that would like to participate as a sponsor, you can write to [email protected], to sponsor these events, or to nominate someone to be honored on October 21st.

The Harvest Moon, also called the Corn Moon, is the closest full moon to the autumnal equinox that occurs in the Northern Hemisphere in September. This year we will have the full harvest moon for one week starting on September 10th. This full moon, the last of the summer, announced to the farmers that it was time to harvest the grain. What better place to celebrate our 18th anniversary and reap the rewards of our labor than at a farm like Greig's in Red Hook.

La Voz magazine has been covering Hudson Valley news and culture since 2004, serving the more than 170,000 Latinos living in Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, and Ulster counties. The award-winning, independent, nonprofit publication has hosted many events that draw hundreds of people from the community to celebrate culture, as well as discuss and learn about local issues that affect us.

Latinos are here to stay, and we need the tools to learn how to navigate the educational, health, business, and political systems of this country, of this state. This is the need that La Voz strives to satisfy in each edition. Based at Bard College, a non-profit organization, La Voz magazine is a free, independent, award-winning publication that has been informing the Hispanic communities of the Hudson Valley since 2004. We feel a great responsibility to keep our readers well informed, and to maintain a means of communication for the public good.

We look forward to seeing you on September 11 at the Harvest Moon celebration with La Voz! bit.ly/CosechaLaVoz
