How do I get there? / ¿Cómo llego allí?

February 2018 En 2018 regresamos con la intención de que los suplementos les sirvan para poder comunicarse en inglés eficazmente en su día a día. Por esta razón, este mes exploramos cómo pedir indicaciones.
You are walking around town and, unfortunately, you end up getting a bit lost. What can you do? Here is a sample conversation you can try to ask for directions. (Please note that the most useful expressions are in bold for you to remember them easily).
Sample Dialogue:
YOU: HI! EXCUSE ME, COULD YOU HELP ME? I NEED TO GET TO THE TOWN HALL. [¡Hola! Disculpe, ¿podría ayudarme? Necesito ir al ayuntamiento].
STRANGER: SURE! NO PROBLEM. IT’S ABOUT TWO BLOCKS FROM HERE. [¡Claro! Sin problemas. Está a unas dos cuadras de aquí].
YOU: REALLY? THAT’S GREAT! WHERE EXACTLY? WHERE AM I ON THIS MAP? [¿En serio? ¡Genial! ¿Dónde exactamente? ¿Dónde estoy en este mapa? -mostrándole un mapa-).
STRANGER: WE’RE RIGHT HERE. IT’S EASY. JUST GO ALONG THE STREET UNTIL YOU REACH THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THEN, TURN LEFT. IT’LL BE ON YOUR RIGHT. [Estamos justo aquí. Es fácil. Solo siga por esta calle hasta llegar al semáforo. Entonces, gire a la izquierda. Estará a su derecha].
YOU: OK, I SEE. THANK YOU! AROUND HERE, ISN’T IT? DO I NEED TO GO PAST THE HOSPITAL? [Bien, ya entiendo. ¡Gracias! -Señalando el mapa- por aquí, ¿no? ¿Necesito pasar el hospital?].

STRANGER: YES, ONCE YOU GET TO THE TOWN HALL, THERE IS A SUPERMARKET ON THE CORNER. IF YOU’RE HEADING EAST, THAT’S YOUR BUS STOP. [Sí, una vez llegue al ayuntamiento, hay un supermercado en la esquina. Si se dirige al este, esa es su parada].
YOU: GREAT! YES, I’M GOING TO THE EAST, TO WALMART. IS IT NECCESARY TO CHANGE BUSES? [¡Genial! Sí, voy para el este, a Walmart. ¿Es necesario cambiar de autobús?].
STRANGER: NOT AT ALL. BUS A2 WILL DROP YOU AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE. GOOD LUCK! [Para nada. El autobús A2 lo dejará en la puerta principal. ¡Buena suerte!].
YOU: THANK YOU VERY MUCH! HAVE A NICE DAY. [¡Muchas gracias! Que tenga un buen día].
