El tiempo: El Salvador

Si sólo un alma, un corazón humano, un toque suave
pudiera alterar el tiempo y volver a una tierra distante
a un lugar tan profundo, siempre grabado en la memoria.
Que el tiempo no nos lleve con el viento
hacia adelante, ni a un futuro de promesas inciertas
sino a un pasado inexorable, a una melodía evocadora de otra época.
Si solamente Dios, un espíritu divino, con una caricia delicada
hubiera podido seguir un rumbo distinto en aquella tierra remota
cómo se mantendrían los recuerdos preciosos.
Pero una eternidad no sanará este dolor
esta incesante penetración de tristeza
esta gran angustia que consume nuestra esencia hasta el infinito.

could alter time and return to a distant land
to a place oh so profound, forever engraved within our minds.
Let time carry us with the wind
not forward, not to a future of uncertain promises
But to the unyielding past, a haunting melody of time.
If only God, one divine spirit, with one delicate caress
Could have followed a distinct path in that faraway land
How precious memories would be sustained.
Yet an eternity will not heal this pain
this incessant penetration of sorrow
this utter anguish devouring our essence infinitely in time.
